Do I need the crop database to install the IB Fieldbook?

The IB Fieldbook uses traits stored in the crop database. So, it is necessary to install it. You can download it from the Crop Information page.

How can I use IB Fieldbook to generate Fieldbook?

A tutorial is available from the Capacity Building -> Training and IB Fieldbook tool site.

How do I update my profile information?

To update your profile, make sure you are logged in and then go to My Account under the "My links" menu at the top of any page.

Click the "Edit" tab and then click the "Profile" sub-tab.  May any changes to your Profile and then click "Save" to save your changes.

How do I add a profile picture?

To add a profile picture, make sure you are logged in and then go to My Account under the "My links" menu at the top of any page.

Click the "Edit" tab at the top and scroll down to "Picture".  Choose an image to upload and then scroll down and click "Save".

If you have already uploaded a profile picture and you want to replace it, simple follow the above steps.  Your profile image will be replaced.  If you want to delete your profile image completely, just check the "Delete picture" checkbox and then click "Save".  Your profile picture will be deleted.

How do I recover my password?

If you have forgotten your password, you can request a password reset by visiting this link.  You will need to know either your iPlant account username or the email address registered with your iPlant account.  Fill out and submit the form and you should receive instructions to complete the password reset process at the email address registered with your iPlant account.

I cannot change my email address. What do I do?

The Integrated Breeding Platform takes advantage of iPlant central authentication.  In order to ensure that IBP stays in sync with iPlant's authentication information we require that the email address you use for IBP is the same as the email address you use for iPlant.

If you need to change your email address, please send an email to and request the change.  The next time you log in to IBP you should notice that your email address has been updated.  If you are already logged in to IBP and you still see your old email address, logging out and back in will trigger the update.

How to register a new user account on the Integrated Breeding Platform (IBP) Portal


1) Open your internet browser.

2) Type in the URL box.

3) Press the [Enter] key.

4) Once the IBP website has been loaded, click the [Register for an account] link, on the upper

right side of the page.

5) You will be redirected to the iPlant website.

6) Please supply information for all fields marked with an asterisk (*)

7) Supply your new username, and fill up the RECAPTCHA textbox with the word that appears in

the image.

8) Click the [Save] button to complete your registration
